Congress passes Resolutions designating “National Health Center Week”

Senate Resolution 31 unanimously passed the U.S. Senate on July 19, designating the week of August 7 ­ 13, 2005 as National Health Center Week to raise awareness of the health services of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers and their 40-year record of keeping communities healthy. The resolution was introduced by Senator Norm Coleman ( Minnesota) and cosponsored by 30 members of the Senate.

House Resolution 289, designating the week of August 7 ­ 13, 2005 as National Health Center Week, passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a voice vote on July 25, honoring Community, Migrant, Homeless, and Public Housing Health Centers and their invaluable contributions as a vital safety net in America’s health care delivery system. The resolution was introduced by Congressman Danny Davis ( Illinois) and cosponsored by 52 members of the House.
