“Educate and Activate!” is the theme for the second annual Health Center Advocate Video Contest.
The goal of the contest is for health center advocates, staff and patients to creatively educate about Community Health Centers and the legislative hurdles health centers face, and to activate new and existing health center supporters to stand up and take action!
CATEGORIES: New this year, video submissions should fall under one of the following four categories:
1. Federal Support: Show us how your health center has benefited from federal grant dollars, money from the Affordable Care Act? Show us how these dollars have benefitted patients served by the health center and/or the community.
2. Access: How does your health center enable you and other patients in the community to have access to health care? Share with us what might happen if the health center were no longer available? How does Medicaid (or SCHIP) coverage allow you, or other patients, to access care at your health center? Show us how the Medicaid Program benefits your health center, its patients or you?
3. Advocacy: What does it mean to be a health center advocate? Why should someone advocate for your health center? How do your health center’s supporters advocate for their health center? Show us how you are an active health center advocate?
4. Clinician Stories: Tell us how working at a health center has impacted the way you practice medicine? Tell other clinicians why they should work at a community health center? How has the National Health Service Corp impacted your ability to practice medicine the way you want?
Note: You are not required to answer all of the questions listed above for a given category, but your video must specifically address one of the categories and the category you are addressing must be indicated upon submission.
TO ENTER: Individuals should create and submit a short video, no longer than three minutes, that addresses one of the contest categories. Every video submission must include a “Call to Action”, compelling viewers to get involved as an advocate, and must contain the advocate sign up link: www.nachc.org/signup. How you choose to incorporate the link in your video is up to you. The NACHC Advocacy Team will review all videos submitted by the contest deadline and contest winners will be announced during the 2011 NACHC Community Health Institute Conference in San Diego.
